| Education: Douglas operates its own public school system. In 2000, Douglas voters approved $26 million to fund the building of a new high school as well as upgrades to other school buildings. In addition, Douglas belongs to the Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational High School consortium. Douglas students have placed well in MCAS results and continue to show improvement in their scores. |

Government: Douglas employs an Executive Administrator to implement the decisions made at Town Meeting by the town's voting citizens. He also works closely with the elected five-member Board of Selectmen. The town also relies on a Planning Board, Conservation Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and many other boards and commissions to conduct the town's daily business.
