WELCOME - DOUGLAS MASTER PLAN IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE

The Douglas Master Plan, completed in the spring of 1998 and adopted by the Planning Board, is a comprehensive plan studying: land use, housing, economic development, natural and cultural resources, open space and recreation, services and facilities, and traffic circulation of our town. The Master Plan includes 87 recommendations which are being addressed by this committee. As of December 2004, our committee has completed action on 70 of these recommendations, with 17 items still open.

The committee is made up of 12 Douglas residents and meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month in the Municipal Center. The Committee welcomes any interested resident to visit us at any of our meetings and to join into our discussion.
The Master Plan Implementation Committee was created after the Douglas Master Plan was completed and adopted by the Planning Board. The Master Plan made 87 recommendations regarding zoning and infrastructure, to be reviewed and implemented by this Committee.

Members of this committee are appointed by the Board of Selectmen and they serve a 1 year term.
