Notice of Conservation Commission Informational Meeting Relative to a Proposed Amendment to the Town of Douglas General Bylaw
The Conservation Commission of the Town of Douglas will hold an informational meeting to discuss a proposed Amendment to the Town of Douglas General Bylaw by adding the following new Section: Illegal Discharges and Stormwater Connections. The Informational Meeting will be held as follow: Place: Douglas Municipal Center, 29 Depot Street, Douglas, MA 01516 Date: Monday, April 2, 2007 Time: 6:45 pm The subject matter of the proposed bylaw is indicated below. The complete text relative to the proposed bylaw is available for inspection during regular business hours at the following offices within the Douglas Municipal Center, 29 Depot Street, Douglas, MA: Town Clerk’s Office: 8:30 am - 1:00 pm & 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm (M - Th) Conservation 8:30 am - 1:00 pm & 1:30 pm - Commission Office: 4:00 pm (M - Th) 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (Tues.) 8:30 am - 12:00 pm (Fri.) The purpose of the Bylaw is to provide the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the Town of Douglas through the regulation of non-storm water discharges to the storm drainage system to the maximum extent practicable as required by federal and state law. The bylaw establishes methods for controlling the introduction of pollutants into the municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) in order to comply with the requirements of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit process.
