Director’s Report
• Circulation has increased. The number of titles moving over our desk for the month was 3,126, an increase of 1.89% over last year; the number of Douglas items moving over all the desks of all libraries for the month was 3,513, an increase of 17.73%; and the number of items owned by Douglas being borrowed by Douglas residents for the month was 2,259, an increase of 6.21%.
• In addition to the established book clubs, a weekly chess club is meeting and chess sets and checker boards are circulating.
• The Kindles have been updated and are now circulating again.
• Movies will begin to be shown at the Library thanks to the Cable Committee’s loan of a screen, a projector loan, and the purchase of speakers.
• An inventory of local historical records held by the Library is being compiled.
• With the added space being realized from moving the Friends books to the space under the front door alcove, reorganized supplies and expanded book storage has happened.

Old Business
Building renovation: The Credit Union has agreed to allow Library patrons to use their ingress, but they must exit over by the pizza shop. There would be a right turn only onto Main Street and parking would be eliminated in front of the Library. Town Engineer Cundiff has drafted a plan for having a large parking lot which would address the needs of abutters. Snook will investigate the progress of this plan. Biagioni and Snook will work on looking into installing a parking lot behind the Library in a more timely fashion.
Clock: The clock has been reinstalled and is being fine-tuned to provide correct time.
Director’s Review: Morrow reported that there were few comments on Snook’s review. Biagioni will provide the review to Snook.
Friends: The Annual Meeting of the Friends will be April 28, 2016.
Back Door: The Annual Town Meeting article for the replacing the back door of the Library will have a cost of $1500 added to it.

New Business
Operational Override An Operational Override is being added to the Annual Town Meeting as well as the Town Election ballot for $1.7 million, $1.5 million will be for the school and $200,000 will be for capital expenditures to repair buildings. Some expressed concern that this may impact the process of getting a positive vote for the ADA renovations to the Library.

Other: Snook reported that two of his volunteers will be leaving to paying jobs in libraries

The next meeting will be April 26, 2016.

The meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM.

Respectfully submitted,
