Trustee Meeting

Present: Joe Biagioni, Ellie Chesebrough, Kate Anderson, Betty Holden, Kevin Sughrue, Ramona Lachapelle and Justin Snook.
Absent: Danielle Morrow and Barbara Van Reed.

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM

Chairman Biagioni welcomed Brian Jamros and Charles Patterson from Bartholomew & Co., Inc. Also in attendance were town employees Mike Guzinski, Jeanne Lovett and Cheryl Vaidya. There was discussion about how Batholomew is used by the Town to manage Trust accounts.

The minutes for September 27, 2016 were accepted.

Treasurer’s Report
Snook presented a Treasurer’s report which was accepted.

Director’s Report
The Chess Club averages between 9 and 12 participants. The Children’s Room has been rearranged to allow for better accessibility to materials. Creative use of colored duct tape has enhanced the carpet repairs. Boopsie, the mobile app, is in development for the Douglas Library and should be operational soon. Technology classes at the Senior Center are given on a bi-weekly schedule. The additional purchases of downloadable titles on Override have reduced the wait time by half.

Old Business
• Building Renovation
It is expected the parking lot proposal will be on the agenda for the Planning Board review sometime in December.
• Policies
The Board moved, seconded and passed unanimously Snook’s proposal for the Collection Development Policy.
• Trust Accounts
The following motions were made, seconded and all passed unanimously:
o Transfer from Vanguard Account 9898729019, R. Douglas, to Bartholomew $10,000 to remain as principal.
o Transfer all funds in Unibank Checking Account 8805040063 to Bartholomew as a spending fund for children’s materials. Net earnings from the R. Douglas principal shall be transferred to this account.
o Transfer from Vanguard Account 9894730752 $20,000 as principal, and the remaining as well as net earnings to Bartholomew as the Original Donors Account, to be used for expenditures.
o Transfer from Vanguard Account 82061061, the Simon Fairfield Trust Account, to Bartholomew for general expenditures.
• Friends
Although another rainy Octoberfest, the Book Sale went well as did the “Beat the Professor” chess games.

New Business
Carrick donation The Carrick family’s account at the Greater Worcester Community Center yielded $876 this year and has been put into the donations account held by the Town Treasurer.

The next meeting is scheduled for November 29, 2016.

The meeting adjourned at 9:10 PM.
