Absent: Joe Biagioni and Ramona Lachapelle.

The meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM

Reorganization
It was moved, seconded, and voted unanimously for Joseph Biagioni, Chairman, Danielle Morrow, Vice-chairman, Ramona Lachapelle, Treasurer and Ellie Chesebrough, Secretary.

Minutes
The minutes for April 25, 2017 were accepted.

Treasurer’s Report
• An increase in the fines collection as realized soon after the policy changed to accept fines for overdues.
• The Carrick fund income issued by the Greater Worcester Community Foundation may have to be spent yearly. This year Snook is planning on spending it on operational budget items.
• Book plates for items bought with donations are not normally used except for the Mone books.

Director’s Report
• Local history access is being used by the community. The Town Reports have all been digitized. Our volunteer archivists have made contact with the Historical Society with an aim to provide uniform access to the Historical Society’s collections. Initial sorting and organizing by content will be done by Rebecca Lavallee, SFPL Archivist.
• The Ukulele program entertained 27 enthusiastic participants.

Old Business
Building Renovation
• Snook is expecting contact information from Biagioni for the company that plans to move the wall.
• National Grid will be sealing windows to help with conserving heating/cooling systems.
• The Building and Facilities Committee had informed the Library via Ton Engineer Cundiff, of a $250,000 grant that a can be used for accessibility issues. Snook has contacted architect Van Hoorhis for help. Apparently no signatures from the Trustees are needed on the application.

Trust Funds Vanguard to Bartholomew
The funds in the Vanguard Account which the Trustees had considered Trusts cannot be considered as such because they have no paperwork stating this. Chesebrough will look into it further. The check for these funds needs to be acted on before August 24.

FY 2019 Budget
The Library Action Committee, working hard to assure the Library’s operating budget stays intact, met and discussed services the Library can offer and publicize in print as well as social and electronic media. Snook mentioned a $250 gift from IPG Photonics for a Children’s program on Lego robotics. He also plans to rope off the loft area temporarily for Lego building. He is pondering sending photos to the newspapers of programs that have already happened.

Morrow offered that by reducing the Town’s budget by 1% overall, some relief might be felt. It was mentioned that a lot of the budget woes stem from items the Ton has no control over, like health insurance increases.

New Business
None.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 27, 2017.

The meeting adjourned at 8:06 PM.

Respectfully submitted
Ellie Chesebrough, Secretary
