Minutes
Trustee Meeting

Present: Joe Biagioni, Danielle Morrow, Barbara Van Reed, Ellie Chesebrough, Kate Anderson, Betty Holden, Kevin Sughrue, and Justin Snook.
Absent: Ramona Lachapelle.

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM

Minutes
The minutes for May 23, 2017 were accepted.

Treasurer’s Report There was no Treasurer’s Report.

Director’s Report
• A Keurig Coffee Maker has been donated to the Library. Coffee will be supplied by the Friends with sales income being used to keep coffee supplies in stock.
• The ukuleles are on display and circulating.
• The teen loft is being convert to a quiet study area and will also be used for Lego construction letting children to keep building creations without having to dismantle them at the end of the day.
• The air conditioner at the circulation desk needs attention.
• Staff member Maria Rocheleau has moved to Florida. Gail Bowen will cover these hours until a replacement has been hired. A review of the job description will be done.

Old Business
Building Renovation
• Snook is expecting work to begin on the parking lot by the Highway Department the third week of July. He is scheduling Tetreault from Mendon to remove the retaining wall the second week of July.
• Snook will be submitting an Accessibility Grant for $250,000 from the Massachusetts Office of Disability by June 30th. The Trustees moved, seconded and passed unanimously to support the Massachusetts Office of Disability grant application for $250,000 and approved the cost of $2,500 to be paid from the Building Fund to VanHoorhis for updated drawings. VanReed agreed to review the draft grant.

Trust Funds Vanguard to Bartholomew
The Selectmen have not yet voted to allow the Library to put donations into an interest bearing account.

Library Action Committee
Anderson reported that the Library Action Committee is working to keep the community aware of the Library’s activities. There will be a squash challenge at the Friends Book Sale in July. Publicity in newspapers of Library events is being worked on. Snook has been in contact with Cable to work on Library vignettes. Raising the alarm about the relevance of the Library is paramount.

New Business
It was noted the death of Winfield Schuster Carrick and the family’s wish for memorial donations be given to the Library.

The next meeting is scheduled for July 25, 2017.

The meeting adjourned at 7:51 PM.
