DOUGLAS PERSONNEL BOARD

July 29, 2010



Members Present: Ellie Chesebrough, Debby Heinz, BettyAnn McCallum


 JOB DESCRIPTIONS: We still need job descriptions from non-union employees in the police department. BettyAnn will write a letter to the chief. We still need some clarification from Water/Sewer on responsibilities within their department. The Board also needs to rate the positions at the Senior Center and the positions of Treasurer, Town Clerk and Tax Collector. New job descriptions for these two positions were not submitted, and they probably will remain the same so we will use the ones on file. BettyAnn will email these.


 BENEFITS CONSISTENCY: The Board discussed the inconsistency of benefits between contract and unionized employees vs. employees represented by the Personnel Board. The Board feels that benefits should be consistent for all employees and should follow the guidelines of the Personnel Bylaw and the Personnel Policy manual.


 SURVEYS: The Board discussed whether or not it would be beneficial to see how other towns rated certain positions and what the salaries were. BettyAnn will try to find the original towns that we were compared to when MIAA rated us and will look for other comparisons that have been done.
