Notice of Planning Board Public Hearing
Relative to
Proposed Zoning Bylaw Amendments
Pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 40A, § 5
The Douglas Planning Board will hold a public hearing regarding the adoption of amendments to the Zoning Bylaw for the Town of Douglas, Massachusetts, to be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at 7:15 PM in the Douglas Municipal Building, Community Meeting Room, 29 Depot Street, Douglas, MA 01516. The following is a list of the areas to be amended:
1. To amend the exemption under Section 6.1.3.1 so that, as amended, the Section will read as follows:
Building related activities, as follows:
(a) Excavation below finished grading that is directly customary and incidental to the construction of all buildings for which all permits required for construction have been issued, including, but not limited to excavation for foundations and septic systems;
(b) Excavation below finished grading that is directly customary and incidental to the installation of walks, driveways, swimming pools, or other similar infrastructure that are accessory to building construction.
2. To amend Section 6.1.6.3 so that, as amended, the Section will read as follows:
Excepting excavation that is exempt under Section 6.1.3.1, no excavation approved by a Special Permit issued hereunder may be within one hundred (100) feet of an existing public way or an adjacent property line.
The complete text of the proposed amendments can be obtained and/or reviewed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30am to 12:00pm on Friday in the Community Development Department located at 29 Depot Street in Douglas, Massachusetts.
