BUILDING & FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 18, 2018

A meeting of the Building & Facilities Construction Committee (BFCC) was held on April 18, 2018 at the Municipal Center. Mr. Holland called the meeting to order at 7:50 PM.

ATTENDANCE
PRESENT: Sean Holland (Chairman), Linda Brown, Michael Fitzpatrick, Virginia Howe
NON-VOTING: William Cundiff (Town Engineer)
ABSENT: Shirley Mosczynski (Vice Chairperson-Excused), Rebekka O’Melia (Excused)

1. MUNICIPAL BUILDING & PRIMARY SCHOOL ROOF CAPITAL PROJECTS
-Windows & Roofs
Mr. Cundiff stated that he is working on getting the manufacturer representatives from Varieka and Greenwood together to go over the windows and roofs once again and close out the projects.

2. MUNICIPAL FIRE ALARM
Mr. Cundiff stated he spoke with the Chief Procurement Officer who asked that the document to go out to bid once again with an increased designer fee of $20,000 to get more response.

3. MUNICIPAL CENTER GYMNASIUM WINDOWS
Mr. Cundiff stated that there has been no status change.

4. GREEN ENERGY
Mr. Cundiff stated that Douglas has formally received the designation funds. The LED streetlight replacement program funds of roughly $90,000, are fully reimbursable. The balance of those funds will be used elsewhere.

5. NORTH STREET SPILLWAY
Mr. Cundiff stated that North Street is closed and the bid documents are in the process of being finalized. The scope has been expanded in a minor fashion at the request of the Water/Sewer Dept. to replace a portion of the water line. That work will be paid from the Water/Sewer Enterprise Fund. Mr. Cundiff plans to have the bid documents reflect the water main as an add alternate so that it can be billed separately. Chapter 90 funds will also be used to fund the project.
Mr. Cundiff expects the road to be back open by the end of June, 2018.

6. MEETING MINUTES: June 21, 2017
Ms. Brown made a motion to approve the June 21, 2017 BFCC meeting minutes as presented. Mr. Fitzpatrick seconded the motion. Vote: Aye-3, Ms. Howe abstained.

7. ADJOURNMENT
Ms. Brown made a motion to adjourn the BFCC meeting at 7:57 PM. Mr. Fitzpatrick seconded the motion. Vote: Unanimous.
