July 14, 2020 Finance Committee meeting

FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING
TUESDAY, JULY 14, 2020

A meeting of the Finance Committee (FC) was held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, participants were invited to join the meeting by video conference. Mr. D’Amico called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

ATTENDANCE:
PRESENT: Howard D’Amico (Chair), Michael Hutnak (Vice Chair), Sandy Kuipers, Heather Morin, Lynne Mussulli, Dick Vanden Berg
ABSENT: Carol Gogolinski, Phil Landry
NON-VOTING: Jeanne Lovett (Finance Director)

1. RESERVE FUND TRANSFERS/VOUCHERS-Possible Vote(s):
There were no reserve fund transfers.

2. INTER/INTRA DEPARTMENTAL TRANSFERS-Possible Vote(s):
Ms. Lovett stated that they have experienced an increase in expenses for trucking and recycling at the Transfer Station in the months of May and June. In response to Mr. Vanden Berg’s question, Ms. Lovett believes that the closure of the recycling due to COVID is one cause for the increase in the BP Trucking bill: people were throwing recyclables into the trash. Also, Douglas needs to pay for recycling.
Mr. Vanden Berg made a motion to approve the request to transfer $3,500 from Transfer Station Salaries to Transfer Station Expenses. Mr. Hutnak seconded the motion. Vote: Aye-6.
Mr. Hutnak made a motion to authorize Mr. D’Amico to sign the transfer request on behalf of the Finance Committee. Mr. Vandenberg seconded the motion. Vote: Aye-6.

3. OLD BUSINESS/NEW BUSINESS:
The next meeting will be July 28, 2020.

4. MINUTES:
There were no minutes for approval.

5. ADJOURNMENT:
Ms. Mussulli made a motion at 7:06 PM to adjourn the Finance Committee meeting. Ms. Morin seconded the motion. Vote: Aye-6.
