DOUGLAS CABLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meeting Monday, November 22, 2010 – Douglas Municipal Center
Prepared by Pat Aldrich
Members Present: Mitch Cohen, Bob Werme, Fred Fontaine, Kellie Malo
Staff: Pat Aldrich, Daniel Harlow
Mitch opened at 7:00 p.m.
1. Meeting Minutes: Not ready yet.
2. Job Descriptions: Kellie brought in her adjusted draft of the cable coordinator position. Some discussion about the job description. Fred motioned to accept Cable Coordinator job description as amended to be forwarded to the Personnel Board, Kellie 2nd, unanimous favor. The Recording Assistant description had some small changes after discussion and has one more round of discussion before submitting to the Personnel Board. Kellie volunteered again to re-write the Recording Assistant description and submit it for review next meeting.
3. Charter: Modulator problems are still unresolved. One modulator is causing an issue with customers with digital cable not being able to see channel 11. A cable box was installed in the cable office with a switch so we can monitor both types of cable, helping to maintain a consistency with the customers.
4. Tools/Equipment: Tools and equipment for cable making has arrived and is ready for the recording rack makeover. Monopod that was approved last meeting has arrived as well.
5. Cable Coordinator Report: Mitch brought up an earlier conversation in which Pat said wanted to look more in depth at the High School set up in the auditorium so that he could effectively come up with a process to record meetings in that room. Until this point, Mitch had been setting up the meetings in that room while also having the responsibilities of Selectmen as well. Pat asked for possible headsets to communicate easily in the large building. Fred mentioned that the school is equipped with Clear Comm and should already have head sets and would meet Pat over there as well. Mitch said he would forward contact info for Donna at DHS so they can set up a time.
6. Draft Policy for Town Events: Need to bring up draft version of the policy regarding using recording assistants for public events. Mitch said he would email out the current draft.
7. Next Meeting: December 13, 2010.
8. Adjournment: Fred motioned, Kellie 2nd to adjourn at 7:16 p.m.
