OCTOBER 17, 2001

A Special Meeting was convened at 6:05 PM by Vice Chairman Ron Forget, with Shirley Moscynski, and Ed Therrien in attendance. Also present were Interim Executive Administrator David Owen and Police Chief Patrick Foley. Chief Foley described the work and the timetable of the Executive Administrator Screening Committee. The Selectmen discussed making a commitment to concluding the selection process for a new Executive Administrator by the end of November.

Selectman Richard Preston joined the meeting at 6:25 PM. There ensued a discussion about whether there is a need for an interim administrator for the period after Mr. Owen’s departure on October 26th until a new full-time administrator is hired and starts work. There was a consensus among the Board members to hire an Interim Administrator for three days per week.

Tom Landry was invited to join the meeting at 6:35 PM. Mr. Landry introduced himself and gave a history of his professional experience in the Municipal Management profession, including his employment history with Littleton, NH, Wayland, MA, Framingham, MA, and Wellesley, MA. Mr. Landry stated that his availability to serve as interim executive administrator is limited to 3 days per week, which coincided with the Selectmen’s preference.

A motion was made by Edward Therrien and seconded by Shirley Mosczynski to hire Tom Landry as Interim Executive Administrator for three days a week starting next week and to authorize the Executive Administrator to arrange a contract with Interim Management Services to provide those services. All Ayes, Motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 PM.
