Notice of Planning Board Public Hearing
Relative to
Proposed Zoning By-law Amendments
Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 40A, § 5

The Planning Board of the Town of Douglas will hold a public hearing to discuss proposed amendments to the Town’s Zoning Bylaws allowing for Residentially-Scaled, Land Based Wind Energy Conversion Facilities (RWECF) and Commercially-Scaled, Land-Based Wind Energy Conversion Facilities (CWECF), subject to compliance with applicable substantive and procedural standards.

The Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 7:00pm in the Community Meeting Room, 29 Depot Street, Douglas, MA.

The proposed amendments are set forth in outline form, below. Copies of the full text of said proposed amendments are available for viewing in the Community Development Department during regular business hours within the Douglas Municipal Center, 29 Depot Street, Douglas, MA.

6.6 RESIDENTIALLY-SCALED, LAND-BASED WIND ENERGY CONVERSION FACILITIES:
6.6.1 Purpose and Intent, 6.6.2 Definitions, 6.6.3 Applicability, 6.6.4 General Requirements, 6.6.5 Siting, Aesthetic and Safety Standards, 6.6.6 Application for Site Plan Review, 6.6.7 Lapse, 6.6.8 Modifications, 6.6.9 Maintenance, 6.6.10 Abandonment and 6.6.11 Waiver.

6.7 COMMERCIALLY-SCALED, LAND-BASED WIND ENERGY CONVERSION FACILITIES:
6.7.1 Purpose and Intent, 6.7.2 Definitions, 6.7.3 Applicability, 6.7.4 General Requirements, 6.7.5 Siting Standards, 6.7.6 Environmental, Aesthetic and Safety Standards, 6.7.7 Pre-application Conference, 6.7.8 Application for a Special Permit, 6.7.9 Independent Consultants, 6.7.10 Use by Telecommunications Carriers, 6.7.11 Term; Lapse, 6.7.12 Modifications, 6.7.13 Monitoring and Maintenance, 6.7.14 Abandonment, Discontinuance of Use and Decommissioning, 6.7.15 Waiver
