Notice of Planning Board Public Hearing Relative to Proposed Zoning By-law Amendments Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 40A, § 5 The Planning Board of the Town of Douglas will hold a public hearing to discuss proposed amendments to the Town’s zoning by-laws. The public hearing will be held as follows:

Place: Douglas Municipal Center, 29 Depot Street, Douglas, MA. 01516.

Date: Tuesday, September 26, 2006 Time: 8:15 pm

The subject matter of the proposed amendments are indicated below. The complete text and maps relative to the proposed amendments are available for inspection during regular business hours at the following offices within the Douglas Municipal Center, 29 Depot Street, Douglas, MA: Town Clerk’s Office: 8:30 am - 1:00 pm & 1:30 pm - 4:00pm (M-Th) 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (Tues) Planning Board Office: 8:30 am-1:00 pm & 1:30 pm-4:00 pm (M-Th) 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (Tues.) 8:30 am - 12:00 pm (Fri.) The changes to the Douglas Zoning Bylaws primarily consist of rezoning the area south of Main Street and east of Southeast Main Street from Residential Commercial One (RC-1) to Village Residential (VR).

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED VR ZONE The point of origin begins at the northerly point of the proposed new zone at a point where the southwest border of Assessors Parcel 187-6 intersects the southerly edge of Main Street (Rt.16). From this point the zone border proceeds southeasterly along the southwestern property line of Assessors Parcel 187-6, ending at the southern corner point of Assessors Parcel 187-6. From this point the zone border proceeds northeasterly along the southeasterly border of Assessors Parcel 187-6 and Assessors Parcel 187-5, ending at the southeasterly corner of Assessors Parcel 187-5. From this point the zone border proceeds southeasterly along the southwesterly border of Assessors Parcel 187-3, continuing southeasterly along the southeasterly border of Assessors Parcel 188-28, ending at the southern corner of Assessors Parcel 188-28. From this point the zone border proceeds easterly along the southern border of Assessors Parcel 188-28, continuing along the southern border of Assessors Parcel 188-8 to a point where the southern border of Assessors Parcel 188-8 intersects the existing VR zone border, this VR zone border being 525 feet from the westerly edge of Glenn Street. From this point the zone border proceeds southerly along the existing VR zone border, that border being 525 feet from the westerly edge of Glenn Street, ending at a point where the existing VR zone border intersects the northerly edge of Yew Street. From this point the zone border proceeds westerly along the northern edge of Yew Street ending at a point where it intersects the northerly edge of Southeast Main Street. From this point the zone border proceeds northwesterly along the northerly edge of Southeast Main Street to a point where it intersects Main Street (Route 16). From this point the zone border proceeds northeasterly along the southern edge of Main Street (Route 16) to a point where the southwesterly border of Assessors Parcel 187-6 intersects the southerly edge of Main Street (Route 16), this point being the origin of this description.
